Based in Milwaukee and hailing from Appleton, Wisconsin, Nadia Dorsey is a jazz vocalist and educator whose voice carries a maturity well beyond her years. With a professional career that began at just 14 years old, Nadia has spent over a decade captivating audiences across the Midwest with her blend of gospel-rooted soul and sophisticated jazz improvisation.

Nadia’s versatility was forged in two very different arenas. She spent years as a lead worship leader at Celebration Fox Valley, where she mastered the art of connecting with a room through raw, emotive storytelling. Simultaneously, she brought high-energy performances to the stage with the renowned regional powerhouse Boogie and the Yo-yos, proving her ability to command large crowds and diverse genres.

Academic Excellence and Experience

Currently, Nadia is deepening her craft at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s Peck School of the Arts, pursuing a degree in Music Education. Her academic journey is complemented by elite performance roles that showcase her range:

Combo 150: As the lead singer for this premier local Milwaukee jazz group, Nadia showcases her ability to front an intimate ensemble with improvisational flair and leadership.

Ensemble Work: She is a featured vocalist with both the UWM Jazz Band and the Afro-Caribbean Jazz Orchestra, navigating everything from the Great American Songbook to complex global rhythms.

Stylistic Range: Beyond the jazz world, Nadia is a true vocal chameleon. Her technical training and professional background span classical repertoire, classic rock, musical theater, and contemporary pop, making her one of the most adaptable vocalists in the region.
